Day 2 (Mon, 9 Mar 2026): Hanoi

Visit West Lake – Tran Quoc pagoda – Ba Dinh Square and the Ethnology Museum
You will begin your visit from the West Lake (Tay Ho in Vietnamese) where you will enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, in contrast with the hustle and bustle of the capital’s center. Often referred to as the district of expats, here, you will find embassies, fashionable coffee shops and a favourite place of the Hanoians for morning exercises by the lake. Then, continue your visit to Tran Quoc pagoda, which is located on a serene peninsula by the West Lake, dating back to the early 10th century and considered as one of the most ancient pagodas in Hanoi. After that, you will make a short trip to admire the solemn exterior of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, followed by a stop at the One-Pillar Pagoda in the same area.
You will pay a visit to the Ethnology Museum and learn about the different ethnic groups of Vietnam. Created in November 1997 at the Francophonie Summit, it is both a research center and a public museum featuring the 54 ethnic groups found across Vietnam. You will be able to find here an impressive collection of traditional costumes, musical instruments, jewelry, weapons and illustrations of various customs of the 54 minorities, providing an interesting introduction to Vietnamese culture.

Tonight, you’ll have a chance to understand what makes Hanoi’s Old Quarter such a captivating place. Here, you will be able to taste a wide variety of Vietnamese specialties, such as banh cuon (steamed rolled rice pancake) and banh mi (the famous Vietnamese sandwich that even appears in the Oxford Dictionary). Then, stop at a bia hoi (beer club) and taste the fresh Vietnamese beer that is incredibly popular with locals and travelers alike. After that, you will head to a pho shop, where you will be able to choose between regular pho or pho tron (pho noodles mixed with chicken without soup). Then, make your way along Hoan Kiem Lake for one of the tastiest ice creams in Hanoi. You will then say goodbye to your guide and go on to explore Hanoi by night on your own.

Day 3 (Tue, 10 Mar 2026): Hanoi – Ha Giang

You will head north to the town of Ha Giang, built on the Lo river (a tributary of the Red river). On the way, you will pass through regions inhabited by Viet, San Chay, and Dao ethnic groups and stop to visit the villages, take memorable pictures and admire the landscape. You will then arrive in Ha Giang at the end of the afternoon.

Day 4 (Wed, 11 Mar 2026): Ha Giang – Dong Van

In the morning, you will take the road to the small provincial town of Dong Van, whose specific limestone geology gives it the name “World Geological Park” (as it is located in an area known as the “Stone Plateau”). On the way, you will make a stop at Pho Cao, a H’mong village, where all the houses are built of clay. You will then descend to Sung La valley, famous for its wild forests and impressive limestone landscapes.
In the afternoon, you will visit the H’mong royal palace of the Vuong family, a combination of Chinese and European architecture reflecting their strong creativity in construction.

Day 5 (Thu, 12 Mar 2026): Dong Van – Lung Cu – Nho Que – Meo Vac

In the morning, you will head towards Lung Cu and visit the famous flag tower, offering both views on China and a reminder of the history in the area. You will then head towards Meo Vac arriving at the end of the day. Located in the far north of Vietnam, Meo Vac – nicknamed the “Black H’mong Eagle’s Nest”, is accessible by an impressive 20-kilometer zigzag road revealing stunning karst landscapes and the Nho river.

Day 6 (Fri, 13 Mar 2026): Meo Vac – Ba Be

Long journey on the road to reach Ba Be.You will arrive in Ba Be National Park early in the evening, reaching the village of Pac Ngoi and a local stilt house with a beautiful view over the lake.

Day 7 (Sat, 14 Mar 2026): Ba Be – Hanoi

Your morning will be devoted to a three hour kayak ride on Ba Be Lake, surrounded by steep mountains with tropical vegetation. You will discover the Puong cave, shaped by the rivers that have carved the Limestone Mountains around the lake. Departure in the late afternoon to Hanoi.

Day 8 (Sun, 15 Mar 2026): Hanoi – Ninh Binh by train
|
Early in the morning, you will reach Long Bien station to take the train to Ninh Binh.
Uppon arrival in Ninh Binh, you will set off for a day trip to Hoa Lu, one of the most famous sites of Vietnam for its historical remnants and impressive limestone peaks, which gives it the name “Halong Bay on land”. There, you will also discover the temples of two Dinh kings dating back to the 10th century.
In the afternoon, you will step onto a sampan to travel to the caves of Tam Coc (“the three lagoons”), nestled in the middle of an aquatic landscape and gigantic rock formations. After the boat ride, you will travel to your hotel and check-in your room.

Day 9 (Mon, 16 Mar 2026): Ninh Binh – Cuc Phuong National Park – Ninh Binh

From your hotel, you will travel to Cuc Phuong National Park. Cuc Phuong is the oldest nature reserve in Vietnam and also a rescue center for many natural species. Here you will see remarkable wildlife, and many rare trees and plants which are reserved and taken care of in this range. You can take a short walk into the jungle to truly immerse yourself in this incredible natural landscape. Take your time to enjoy the environment and atmosphere in this national park before heading back to Ninh Binh.

Day 10 (Tue, 17 Mar 2026): Ninh Binh – Tuan Chau – Halong Bay
|
In the morning, you will head towards Tuan Chau Pier. There, embark on a cruise through the must-see Lan Ha Bay. This world-famous bay is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Vietnam, with its giant rock islets covered in luxuriant vegetation overlooking the waters. Lan Ha Bay is an extension of Halong Bay, which includes some 1,900 islands and islets of rocky peaks, often uninhabited and untouched by human hands. These scenes create a spectacular marine landscape, which earned it UNESCO World Heritage status in 1994.
You will be served lunch and dinner aboard the cruise. Be sure not to miss the sunset on the top deck for beautiful pictures (depending on the weather conditions).

Day 11 (Wed, 18 Mar 2026): Lan Ha Bay

Early in the morning, you will welcome the sunrise from the deck of the boat and then spend the day exploring the famous Halong Bay. The bay offers endless possibilities for pictures with its hundreds of astonishing, karstic peaks. You will enjoy a special moment during the sunset on the Halong bay before having dinner on the boat.

Day 12 (Thu, 19 Mar 2026): Ha Long Bay – Cat Hai – Cat Ba
|
In the morning, you will get up early to enjoy the sunrise over the bay: stunning rocky islands, birds singing, cicadas chirping, gentle waves and so on. You will have breakfast on board while the cruise continues in the heart of the bay until you reach port and disembark.
You will meet our driver and travel to Cat Hai for cable car journey to Cat Ba island. Another driver in Phu Long station will welcome you and transfer to the hotel for check-in.
